Kumrabai Matuku Village, Kholifa Mabang Chiefdom, Tonkolili District, is in mourning following the brutal murder of local farmer Amidu Gbla, whose beheaded body was discovered on a neighboring farm. The shocking incident has left the community in disbelief.

A search party, which included local sorcerers and tracking dogs, found Gbla’s remains on the property of Ibrahim Conteh, a nearby farmer with whom Gbla shared a boundary. Conteh has since been arrested and taken to Mile 91 Police Station for questioning. Authorities later located Gbla’s head buried nearby. Due to the condition of the remains, officials have ordered a prompt burial.

Suspicion has fallen on Conteh following an unusual incident in which he allegedly handed cigarettes to a relative of Gbla, instructing them to deliver them to Gbla if he returned. This peculiar behavior raised alarms among family members and prompted the search party’s focus on Conteh’s farm.

The community’s response to the murder has been intense; reports indicate that Conteh’s family home was set ablaze in retaliation, forcing them to flee for their safety. As the village grapples with the aftermath of this heinous act, the Mile 91 Police Station has opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Gbla’s death. The motive remains unclear, and authorities are working diligently to gather further evidence.

Residents are urged to maintain calm and cooperate with law enforcement as the investigation unfolds.
