SLPHA Alerts Public to Fake Job Vacancies on Social Media

By: Joseph Momoh, Reporter D.S.

The Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA) has issued a public warning regarding fraudulent job vacancy advertisements that are currently circulating on social media.

In a notice disseminated through various media platforms, SLPHA management firmly denied the authenticity of these advertisements, which falsely claim to recruit casual workers for the Authority. The institution has labeled the information as “false” and clarified that no such recruitment notice has been issued.

The SLPHA urged the public to disregard these misleading advertisements, emphasizing the importance of relying solely on official communication channels for legitimate employment opportunities. They stated that all official job announcements will be made exclusively through these channels and cautioned individuals to remain vigilant in order to avoid falling victim to scams.

“The management unequivocally refuted the claims of job vacancies being advertised on social media platforms for the recruitment of casual workers at the Authority,” read the notice.

Individuals are encouraged to direct any official inquiries to the Authority’s website at www.slpha.sl.
