Woman Sentenced to 36 Months for Possession of Harmful Substances

In a decisive ruling, Magistrate Joseph Toby of the Kambia District Magistrate’s Court has sentenced 30-year-old Mary Conteh to 36 months in prison for possession of illegal substances. Conteh, a resident of Elizabeth Street in Bassa Town, Waterloo, was apprehended on October 13, 2025, during a police operation at the Kambia District Central Lorry Park.

During the operation, law enforcement officers discovered seven wrapped parcels containing harmful substances in Conteh’s possession. The court’s verdict, delivered on October 22, 2025, underscores the ongoing efforts to combat the trafficking and distribution of illicit drugs across the nation.
