Freetown – Minister of Youth Affairs Ibrahim Sannoh has accused the CEO of BORN2BLOG, Sahr Memphis, of “irresponsible blogging of extortion” and reminded him of his previous detention over cyberbullying allegations.
The exchange follows BORN2BLOG’s criticism of Minister Sannoh’s performance, suggesting he should be sacked and praising his predecessor, Mohamed Orman Bangura. Sannoh responded, “I don’t give free money to people like you who are a menace to yourselves… If your sustenance depends on irresponsible blogging of extortion, then I wish you well.”
Memphis was detained in November 2025 over allegations of cyberbullying and misinformation, with a leaked chat transcript showing him negotiating a payment to suppress a story. The Minister’s comments reference this incident, with Sannoh stating Memphis is “not even ashamed of such”.
