Telecommunications giant Orange Sierra Leone has reaffirmed its commitment to employee welfare and improved working conditions during a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Minister of Employment, Labour and Social Security, Umaru Napoleon Koroma.

The visit was aimed at congratulating the Minister on his appointment and strengthening the working relationship between the company and the Ministry.

Receiving the delegation, Minister Koroma thanked Orange for the visit, describing it as the first courtesy call by a private sector organisation since he assumed office.

Head of the delegation and Director of Human Resources at Orange Sierra Leone, Madam Agnes Songa, said the welfare of employees remains central to the company’s values and operations.

She stressed Orange’s willingness to continue collaborating with the Ministry to address labour issues affecting its workforce and to promote a conducive working environment.

Minister Koroma said his priority is to move the Ministry beyond making laws to ensuring effective implementation of labour policies and programmes.

He noted that strong leadership, partnership with the private sector and timely action are key to creating a better environment for both employers and workers.

He assured the Orange team that he will provide the leadership needed to drive the Ministry’s agenda forward quickly while encouraging staff to be more effective in service delivery.

He further urged Orange Sierra Leone to keep open lines of communication with his office on all matters relating to employee welfare and operational enhancement.

The engagement highlights Orange’s continued partnership with government institutions and the Ministry’s commitment to fostering strong private sector relations to advance labour standards and human resource development.
