The Sierra Leone Police have announced the arrest of six individuals linked to a series of armed robbery incidents that took place approximately two weeks ago in Bo and Kenema. These crimes, which occurred on various dates, resulted in the tragic death of Reverend Father Augustine Dauda Amadu in Kenema and left Mr. John Lamina, the South Regional Manager of NASSIT, with serious injuries in Bo.

The arrests mark a significant advancement in the ongoing investigations, facilitated by intensified police operations. Among those apprehended is Joseph Bangalie, also known as Boika, a former convict with a history of felonious offenses. Other suspects include Foday Sallu and Foday Hassan Sesay, the latter of whom was found in possession of one of Mr. Lamina’s stolen items.

Authorities report that the suspects were arrested with firearms and various housebreaking tools. In a separate operation, a Sierra Leonean was detained at Lungi International Airport for possessing illegal substances. Investigations into both cases are still active, and police have launched a manhunt for additional suspects still at large in connection with the robberies.

The police have expressed gratitude to the public for their ongoing cooperation and encourage citizens to provide timely and relevant information to enhance community safety and security.
