Freetown – The National Revenue Authority (NRA) has issued an urgent directive to mining companies, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) license holders, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), as well as television and radio stations, urging them to promptly settle their outstanding tax and non-tax liabilities.
This call to action aligns with Section 12 of the Finance Act of 2019, which empowers the NRA to enforce the recovery of revenues owed to the government. The Authority has made it clear that non-compliance will lead to immediate enforcement actions, including the sealing of business premises, garnishment of business accounts, and travel restrictions for company representatives.
The NRA is stressing the importance of this notice, encouraging all affected entities to act swiftly to regularize their obligations and avoid potential penalties.
In its statement, the NRA reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring compliance with national revenue laws, emphasizing that timely payments are crucial for funding government initiatives and ensuring effective public service delivery.
