In the Magistrate Court, 22-year-old Alusine Kamara, an unemployed individual, made another appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No. 1 in Freetown on Friday, September 6, 2024, as the police tendered an exhibit.
The accused is facing a single count of House Breaking and Larceny, contrary to Section 26(1) of the Larceny Act 1916. The particulars of the offense allege that on April 7, 2024, at Hill Station, Mountain Rural District, Western Area, Freetown, the accused broke into the dwelling house of Lawrence Saudatu Adama Kanneh and stole twenty-five cartons of glass blocks, one multi-purpose cutter, and four bags of imported cement, totaling sixty-two thousand two hundred and fifty Leones (62,250), property of Saudatu Adama Kanneh.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused, no plea was taken. The witness testified that his duties include receiving exhibits, registering them in the court exhibit book, and tendering them in court when necessary.
On April 16, 2024, DPC 10179 T.M. Conteh, attached to the Breaking and Larceny Office at CID Headquarters, handed over a bag of cement to the witness, which he registered in the court exhibit book against serial number 036/2024. Magistrate Kekura adjourned the matter to September 13, 2024, and continued bail for the accused person.
