The Ministry of Information and Civic Education launched its Civic Day Series today at the Kambia District Council Hall, fostering closer ties between the government and local communities.
This two-day event aims to engage local youth while providing a platform for key stakeholders and government officials to discuss pressing national issues. Among the topics addressed were the upcoming 2025 Census, the Constitutional Review, and critical sectors such as energy, health, and security.
Madam Salima Monorma Bah, Minister of Communication, Technology, and Innovation, addressed attendees, outlining the Ministry’s initiatives, achievements, and the challenges it faces in fulfilling its objectives. Demonstrating her commitment to youth engagement, Madam Bah donated two laptops to the winners of the school debate and quiz competition held during the event.
Aminata Yansaneh from Linda Koroma Secondary School secured first place in the debate, while Fatmata Sheku Bangura from Montana Secondary School claimed the top prize in the quiz competition, both students receiving accolades for their exceptional performances.
This initiative marks an important step in promoting civic education and youth involvement in national discourse.
