ALLEN TOWN, Sierra Leone — A tragic incident in Allen Town has left the local community reeling after a 3-year-old girl was allegedly beaten to death by her guardian.
Preliminary reports indicate that the child had been placed under the care of her aunt before being transferred to the custody of the accused for additional guidance and supervision. The aunt claims that the guardian’s physical abuse stemmed from the child’s repeated incidents of soiling herself and smearing it on her clothing.
It is reported that the child did not die immediately; she later succumbed to her injuries after being taken to a pharmacy by the accused’s girlfriend. The girlfriend has reportedly corroborated the aunt’s account, stating that the accused was responsible for the fatal beating.
The case is currently under investigation by officers at the Kissy Police Division. Authorities have yet to release the name of the suspect, and further details are anticipated as the investigation unfolds.
