The Klymax Breed Foundation has donated food items valued at Le25,000 to the Milton Margai School for the Blind in Freetown, responding to an appeal from the school’s administration for support.

The presentation took place on Saturday, 23 May 2026, at the school’s Wilkinson Road campus. The items included 10 bags of 50kg rice, sachets of drinking water, three bags of onions, powdered milk, luncheon meat, and tinned tomatoes.

Presenting the donation, Program Manager of the Klymax Breed Foundation, Mr. Akiwumi Benjamin, said the foundation acted swiftly after the headmaster made a public appeal for assistance. He noted that the gesture reflects the organization’s commitment to giving back to the community.

Welcoming the donation, Headmaster Mr. Sallieu Turay said the 70-year-old school has played a significant role in educating visually impaired children and contributing to Sierra Leone’s development. He assured that the items would be used solely for the welfare of pupils, who receive three meals daily.

Turay added that the school’s students attend various secondary schools across Freetown and consume about 50 litres of fuel daily for cooking and other needs. He called on other organizations and well-wishers to extend similar support.

He also announced that the foundation would participate in the school’s upcoming 70th anniversary celebrations, noting that despite ongoing challenges, the institution has produced many prominent citizens.

Alhaji Sanusi Bah of the Klymax Breed Organisation said the group was formally registered in 2024 but had existed informally earlier. Composed of past and present students of Fourah Bay College, the organization, he said, is dedicated to supporting society. He promised that the donation would mark the start of an ongoing partnership with the school, with annual contributions planned.

The event was chaired by Mr. David Williams, who congratulated the school on its 70th anniversary and described the donation as timely and meaningful.

Highlights included the formal handover of the items, prayers, the singing of the school song and national pledge, and a special rendition titled “It is only the beginning of our love.” The vote of thanks was delivered by Senior Prefect Jariatu Sesay.
