Jendema Border Crossing Point
In a decisive action against drug trafficking, National Revenue Authority (NRA) customs officials apprehended a Guinean woman suspected of smuggling cocaine at the Jendema Border Crossing between Sierra Leone and Liberia. The operation, which took place on October 23, 2025, followed increased security measures spearheaded by Mujiru I.I. Kallon, Manager of the Customs Services Department and Head of Border Operations for Sierra Leone.
The suspect, identified as Laurancia Kolie, was traveling on a Guinean passport (number 005017470) when she was detained at the customs checkpoint. Despite having passed through several security checks during her journey, a final inspection revealed 91 parcels of a substance believed to be cocaine concealed within her belongings.
After the seizure, both Kolie and the confiscated drugs were swiftly transferred to the Mano River Police Division for further investigation and legal action. This operation underscores the NRA’s steadfast commitment to combating drug trafficking and maintaining the integrity of national borders.
Border management agencies, including the NRA, have reaffirmed their commitment to rigorous surveillance and enforcement at all border points, aimed at preventing the illegal movement of drugs and other contraband. These efforts are crucial for reinforcing national security and ensuring public safety.
