The Mano River Union (MRU) and XL Entertainment have partnered to launch Mano River Week (MRW), a regional cultural festival aimed at promoting integration and economic growth in West Africa. The initiative brings together Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Côte d’Ivoire to celebrate shared cultural heritage and drive sustainable development.

The partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at the MRU Secretariat in Freetown. XL Entertainment will serve as the creative and implementation partner, curating cultural programs, media outreach, and digital ecosystem.

Mano River Week will feature music, film, fashion, and storytelling events, as well as opportunities for youth, entrepreneurs, and creative professionals. The festival will also focus on sustainability and climate initiatives, aligning with the MRU’s commitments to peace, prosperity, and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

“The Mano River Week represents more than a celebration; it is a statement of unity,” said Ambassador Simeon M. B. Moribah, Secretary-General of the MRU. “By partnering with XL Entertainment, we are placing culture, creativity, and communication at the center of regional cooperation.”

The inaugural Mano River Week is expected to position the MRU as a leader in creative diplomacy, showcasing the region’s potential in arts, media, tourism, and innovation.
