The National Revenue Authority has introduced new procedures for the exit of containers from the Queen Elizabeth II Quay on Sundays, requiring importers and exporters to seek prior approval before moving goods.
In a public notice issued on Thursday, August 27, 2026, the NRA said the new arrangement follows resolutions reached during the Chief Minister’s Problem Solving Sessions held in July 2026.
Under the directive, businesses wishing to exit containers on Sundays must submit a written request to the Commissioner General at least 48 hours before the planned operation.
The request must include a full list of containers to be exited, along with all supporting documentation needed for the Authority’s review, reconciliation and reporting.
To ensure timely processing, the NRA advised stakeholders to submit requests no later than 12:00 p.m. on the Friday preceding the Sunday operation.
The Authority also said priority will be given to importers and exporters with a minimum of 30 containers.
Sunday exit operations at the Queen Elizabeth II Quay will run from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
