Police in the Kambia Police Division have declared Abass Kamara wanted in connection with an alleged bank cheque fraud case valued at more than $130,000.
According to initial reports, the incident occurred earlier today at approximately 11:00 a.m., when Kamara allegedly fled with a bank cheque under circumstances that investigators are actively pursuing.
In response to the development, the Local Unit Commander (LUC) has ordered heightened security across the *Western Area Urban, directing checkpoint personnel to intensify screening measures. Officers have been instructed to conduct thorough checks on *all vehicles and motorbikes as part of efforts to locate and arrest the suspect.
Police sources say Kamara is believed to be operating within the area under police jurisdiction, prompting increased surveillance and coordinated operations across multiple checkpoints. Law enforcement officers have been placed on high alert and urged to remain vigilant.
Authorities have also called on the public to assist the investigation by sharing any credible information that could help lead to Kamara’s arrest. A reward has been announced for information considered useful to the case.
