An MP for Kailahun District, Hon. Ing. Fallah Tengbeh, has confirmed that Guinea has agreed to withdraw its military troops from Yenga as part of a peace arrangement reached following talks in Conakry.
Hon. Tengbeh made the confirmation to Epic Radio, stating that Guinea’s President, Mamady Doumbouya, agreed to the troop withdrawal in line with the agreement concluded after a recent tripartite summit.
According to the MP, the arrangement was signed alongside Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio and Liberia’s President Joseph Nyuma Boakai during a Mano River Union summit.
Speaking on the *Epic Morning Show, Hon. Tengbeh described the development as a significant step towards addressing longstanding border tensions between Sierra Leone and Guinea, particularly in the Yenga area.
