The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has pledged to accelerate implementation of agricultural projects following a three-day mid-year review focused on the government’s Feed Salone initiative.
The review, held at De Wizard Hotel in Bo City, assessed the 2026 Annual Work Plans and Budgets of key programmes. Officials evaluated progress recorded in the first half of the year, identified bottlenecks, and agreed on steps to strengthen delivery and accountability.
Project managers, technical experts, development partners, and senior ministry staff attended the session. The goal, officials said, is to ensure agricultural investments produce tangible benefits for farmers and advance national food security targets.
Speaking at the opening, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Dr. Henry Musa Kpaka called for stronger collaboration across all projects.
“We cannot achieve concrete results if we work in silos. We must collaborate, coordinate, and share experiences among ourselves,” Dr. Kpaka said.
“By working as one team, we can solve challenges more effectively and deliver greater impact for our farmers and the nation.”
While programmes operate under different mandates, he noted, they must align toward the common objective of transforming Sierra Leone’s agriculture sector.
The review included presentations from the Food Systems Resilience Programme and the Livestock and Livelihoods Development Project. Stakeholders provided feedback and recommendations aimed at improving performance and fast-tracking activities for the remainder of 2026.
Ministry officials described the exercise as critical to linking budget execution with results on the ground.
