Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, December 7, 2025 — Dr. Julius Maada Bio, President of Sierra Leone and Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), has arrived in Abidjan to participate in the inauguration of President Alassane Ouattara.
President Ouattara, who was re-elected in the presidential elections held on October 25, 2025, will be sworn in during a ceremony in the Ivorian capital.
Upon his arrival at Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport, President Bio was welcomed by Côte d’Ivoire’s Prime Minister, Robert Beugré Mambé, along with high-ranking government officials and members of the diplomatic community.
As ECOWAS Chairman, President Bio’s attendance highlights Sierra Leone’s dedication to regional cooperation and its commitment to nurturing relationships with Côte d’Ivoire and other West African nations. This visit underscores the leadership role President Bio plays in advancing peace, economic integration, and good governance within the ECOWAS region.
