Pademba Road Court No. 2 has remanded two businessmen accused of involvement in the alleged theft of a medical machine valued at US$37,100, as Magistrate John Manso Fornah continues committal proceedings.

Abdul Jabba Mansaray and Joseph Bellon are facing separate charges. Mansaray is charged with conspiracy, larceny, and obtaining money by false pretences. Bellon faces a charge of receiving stolen goods. Neither man was required to enter a plea at this stage.

Detective Sergeant Mohamed Vandi of the Criminal Investigation Department told the court that police investigations led to the arrest of both men. He said officers searched Bellon’s business premises and recovered several items, including an iPhone 11 Pro Max, a Samsung Galaxy A15, an Itel Power 900, and Le 50,000 in cash.

The detective said Bellon made a statement to police that was recorded and tendered in court. Prosecutors also tendered photographs of the alleged stolen medical machine and the bag said to have been used to move it.

The court heard that Mansaray admitted involvement during a police interview on April 9, 2026.

Counsel for the accused, A.B. Sesay and C. Campbell, applied for bail. Magistrate Fornah denied the application, citing the seriousness of the charges.

The matter was adjourned to July 6, 2026, for continuation of committal proceedings.
